When I first got my Labrador Retriever, I was eager to begin training it as many tricks, methods, and obedience I could think of. After weeks and weeks of training, I quickly realised that I was actually getting nowhere, and that my Labrador Retriever was learning nothing!

As an eager person, I done loads of research on how I could better my Labrador Retriever training, and although I did have some success, it really wasn’t what I expected. I must admit, when I first got my Labrador Retriever, I expected dog training to be a breeze, when actually it isn’t.

I was quickly starting to realise this so called reality that training a Labrador Retriever was not so easy. But it wasn’t until I was recommended to some dog training guide from a friend that my experiences with training my dog started to change. The dog training guide I was starting to use was called Kingdom of Pets – Dog Obiedience Guide. It was basically a guide which ran on your computer with video guides, and step by step written guides. The results I experienced from it were astonishing!

My thoughts towards dog training were beginning to change, and my view about dog training being extremely difficult was also starting to change. When training a Labrador Retriever, you should always follow a process. Follow a process which ensures that your dog is actually being trained thoroughly, and a process with is actually realistic. The process of dog training is more like a routine, and if you go off route with this routine, then your effectiveness of your training may not be so great.

I am going to explain to you the Labrador Retriever training process which I use, and works greatly. The process I am going to explain starts from the very beginning of the training of your dog.

The very first stage is to train your dog the very basics of dog training. These basics include commands such as ‘sit’, ‘paw’, ‘lie down’ and many more. Completing these stages is usually natural, and with most peoples retriever, can be completed in a very short amount of time.

Once your Labrador Retriever has mastered that stage, then you can begin to move on to some more advanced training methods. These usually consist of training your dog to walk by your side, stop chasing other dogs, and toilet training. Although these training methods are somewhat more difficult, and do not come just as natural to your dog, they can still be taught if you put in the effort. I suggest you use the Dog Obedience Training Guide to learn how you should be training these methods, and the best ways to go around doing it.

Yet again, after you feel your Labrador Retriever has actually mastered that stage, then you can move onto the more advanced, and final stages of dog training. Completing this step can be very difficult, and can take a long time to actually successfully train to your dog. This stage consists of training your dog methods such as actual commands like pointing to a position, and your dog moves to it, and other similar training methods. This may sound quite unrealistic, but you would be surprised to how many dogs are actually as well trained as this – quite a lot. Like I’ve said though, this requires quite a lot of effort, and that you should certainly use a guide such as the Kingdom of Pets guide to assist you.

These are the basics outline to the process of Labrador Retriever training, and with the effort put in, you can really make these methods work! If you follow the process exactly, and always make sure your dog as mastered one trained method before moving on to the next, then training your Labrador Retriever can be extremely easy!

It is now becoming very common to see dog training ebooks for sale on the internet, with most claiming to really help you train your dog to it’s fullest extent. But the real question is, can an ebook really influence and help you train your dog if it can’t physically assist you, and all it can do is guide you on what to do? I am going to explain the down sides, and the good points about how dog training ebooks can really help you training your dog.

A dog training ebook usually consists of guides, chapters, and sometimes even videos. Most are pretty long, and go into great detail about the best methods, and techniques to training your dog. Some of them even have specific sections for specific dogs. They will have sections for specific tricks, methods, obedience methods you can train your dog, and also sections for the best ways to go around dog training as a whole. Like I’ve said, they go into great detail, and really go through each part of the training process step by step.  I used an ebook for my Labrador Retriever training, and it worked wonders!

However, a downside to these kind of ebooks is the fact you need to do all the training yourself, and if your completely inexperienced, then it can feel like a hair pulling task in some cases.  One thing you should really do when reading dog training ebooks, is do exactly what it says, and don’t try take any short cuts, or skip any parts. Most of the time, it will tell you not to advance on to the next stage unless your dog has completely mastered a specific method or part you have been training it. From my own experienced, this is a must if you want to be successful when training your dog from ebooks. Don’t ever move onto the next stage or technique until your dog has mastered the current one you have been trying to train it.

Obviously a dog training ebook is not going to be as easy as it would be if you simply took it to a professional dog trainer, but they definitely help. Not only will your dog benefit from it, but you will learn, and be able to repeat these training techniques and methods at another time, and even another dog.  Training Labrador Retrievers was very hard for me at first, but after I used an ebook, it was so much easier! If you take your dog to a professional dog trainer, then the chances are the only person/animal that will benefit is your dog.

Best of all though, is that even the best dog training ebooks don’t even cost that much. They cost a fraction of what it would cost to send your dog to a professional dog trainer, and they are packed full of information, techniques, methods, and some of the time even video guides!

I couldn’t recommend getting your hands on a dog training ebook any more if you are really interested in training your dog. I have had great experiences with them, and they are a really great alternative to paying someone to train your dog for you.

Training a Labrador Retriever can be a hard, and hair pulling task sometimes, and most of the methods which people actually use are not very beneficial. Training Labrador Retrievers can be made so much easier when using some of these small, but essential ways to help with Labrador Retriever training. Here are my Labrador Retriever training tips.

Basics First

The basics of dog training are pretty obvious, and almost all dogs are smart at them. These basics include sitting down, giving paw, and lying down upon command.
Even though these are obvious, they should be mastered before attempting to train your Labrador Retriever any more methods or tricks. By mastered, I mean that they do complete the command every time it has been said without any difficulties whatsoever.

Slowly Lead To Harder Tasks

It would be great if you could train your Labrador Retriever to do all sorts of wonderful things straight away, but you can’t. You need to slowly introduce new training methods and techniques while dog training slowly, and gradually. After your dog has mastered something, slowly introduce another, and so on.

By doing this, you are not overloading your dog, and it will be more likely to actually learn a trained method or trick, and remember it. You would be surprised to the large amount of people who try to train their Labrador Retriever, and fail simply because they try to introduce way to many techniques at the one time.

Use Rewards as an Incentive

By giving your dog a reward for completing a trick or method you have been training it, you are basically telling it ‘well done’, or ‘congratulations’. Your Labrador Retriever knows that it has done something good if you reward it, and will be much more likely to complete the method or trick again at a later date during Labrador training.

If you want to use incentives to their fullest extent, then in my opinion using edible treats or similar work best. However, you must not feed your dog these treats regularly, or casually unless it has completed something successfully to see the best results.

Facial Expressions Reward

When your Labrador Retriever completes a trick or method, it is again a good idea to show your dog that it has done something right. This can also be done by using facial expressions, and even talking to your dog in a friendly way. Using this as a possible incentive is probably not as effective with using physical rewards such as the way I mentioned before this, but it is definitely a must if you want your Labrador Retriever to respond really well to your training.

Like said in the last tip, this is a great way to encourage your dog to complete a method or trick trained by you at a later date. Hopefully, your dog will be expecting these kind of rewards if it completes a method or trick at a later date.

Using these methods are a must in my opinion to succeed in Labrador Retriever training. Not only will they increase your chances of successfully training your dog a method or trick, but it will help show results in a much lower amount of time from when first starting to train your Labrador Retriever.

I first acquired my Labrador Retriever around two years ago, I’ve never stopped training it as much as I possibly can. I feel a real sense of achievement for both me and my dog when I successfully train it a new, and unique trick, movement, or rule.

After two years of constantly training my Labrador Retriever, I have definitely learned a thing or two about how you should conduct your Labrador Retriever training, and the best ways to go around doing it. Dog training is not always as hard as it may first seem if you do everything properly, and correctly.

When I am training my Labrador Retriever, I always use prizes. It can become very difficult to train your dog if you don’t use prizes, as your dog can become less interested, and drift off. When your dog successfully completes a method you are trying to train it, you should always provide it with a treat. My doing this, your dog will also feel a sense of achievement, and will be more likely to complete the method at a later time.

Another very important contributor to dog training, is that you use facial recognition of trained methods being completed, and sometimes even by talking to your dog! It may sound stupid to some people, but using facial recognition to congratulate your dog while training Labrador Retrievers is an absolutely great way to encourage it to complete a trained trick or method at a later time.

Although these Labrador Retriever training tips may seem very small, and basics, they are in my opinion, essential to training your Labrador Retriever to it’s fullest extent. Obviously there are more advanced, and technical tips to dog training that you should be doing, but doing those complimented with these two very basics tips can make an absolutely massive boost!
